MANILA, Philippines - The modus operandi used by supermarket thieves in spiriting away items failed to work for two residents of Tondo, Manila, at a gun store in Makati City, radio dzBB reported Wednesday night.
Police arrested the two, initially identified as Danilo Manapao, 33, and Allan Alfaro, 34, after the gun store's manager caught them trying to hide a 9-mm pistol in their bag.
Initial investigation showed the two tried to take the pistol at the Federal Gun Exchange at the Makati Cinema Square, but the shop manager saw them and alerted the security guards.
Before the two could get out of the store premises, the security guards accosted them and called in the police. - GMANews.TV
