MANILA, Philippines - Officials and rescue workers in Marikina CIty prepared evacuation plans for residents as the water level at the Marikina River neared critical level Wednesday morning.
Radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported that the water level at the river had reached 14.2 meters, near the critical level of 15 meters.
City officials said they will put their evacuation plans into motion once the water level reaches 16 meters.
The city's officials had been watching the river's water level since heavy rains started early Wednesday morning. - GMANews.TV
