Miriam blames high power rate on syndicates in Meralco

MANILA, Philippines - Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago on Thursday blamed the increasing power rate on criminal syndicates allegedly operating at the Manila Electric Company (Meralco).

Santiago, Senate energy committee and joint congressional power committee chair, said the Lopez family had no knowledge of these syndicates as she proposed drastic action to weed them out.
