Ten residents in Negros Occidental were rushed to hospital after eating leftover spaghetti from a birthday party Sunday night.
The victims from Barangay Tabunan in Bago City suffered from food poisoning and were taken to Bago City District Hospital due to stomach pains.
The victims were identified as Riza, Rhea, Rene, Rose, Ruth, Ricky and Evelyn, all surnamed Pequinto; and Brelin, Bryan, and Rebecca, all surnamed Biniguay.
"Food ingestions caused the victims to vomit and have loose bowel movement", said Dr. Jesus Ray Pasilan, acting chief of the hospital.
Dr. Luisa Efren, the province's chief health officer. advised the public to see to it that leftover food with tomato sauce is kept in sealed containers and refrigerated to avoid spoiling.
Efren stressed that if the food cannot be refrigerated, it must be consumed immediately because it will likely spoil.
Doctors, meanwhile, said that the victims are now out of danger. Marty Go, ABS-CBN Bacolod
