Search continues for missing child in QC

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Coast Guard are still searching for an eight-year-old boy feared dead after accidentally falling into a creek along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City following Monday night’s heavy downpour.

Jun Narca was on his way to a neighborhood store to buy food when he slipped and fell into the overflowed creek.

The victim's cousin said he saw Narca drowning and attempted to save him.

ABS-CBN News reported that past 10 p.m., other members of the Narca family joined in the search operations at the creek beside the public market on Commonwealth.

Residents said the creek is considered dangerous for children. They said that a month ago, a child also fell into the creek.

Narca's parents said they are still hoping of finding the boy.

Juliet, the victim's mother, called on authorities to at least find her son's body.

Meanwhile, a radio dzMM report Tuesday morning said that a child's body was found floating at the Navotas Fish Port Complex.

The victim is around 10-12 years old and had no clothes on, authorities said.

Officials are investigating if the child might be one of the two children who went missing from the flashflood in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City. With a report from Leah Neeman, abs-cbnNEWS.com intern
