MANILA, Philippines - The suspect in the killing of five people in Quezon province has fallen to authorities, a radio report said Friday.
A report over radio dzXL quoted Quezon provincial police head Senior Superintendent Fidel Posadas as saying that the suspect, identified as Mario Banal, was difficult to talk to because of the suspect's different answers to queries on the alleged crime.
Banal, who is undergoing police interrogation as of posting time, allegedly killed five of his neighbors on Thursday night.
The victims were identified as Elizabeth dela Torre, 27; her children Elisa, 3; Arvin, 5; and Aiselyn Nicole, 4 months old; and neighbor Rosemarie San Juan, 12.
The five were reportedly heading home from a fair at 10 p.m. Thursday when Banal ambushed" them in Malusak village in Atimonan town and hacked them.
The dzXL report said Dela Torres husband did not immediately discover what happened to his family because he had stayed at the fair. - GMANews.TV
