At least three oil companies on Friday announced price cuts in their cooking gas and auto LPG products effective 12:01 a.m. Saturday, August 9.
Petron was the first to issue an advisory saying its Gasul liquefied petroleum gas product will be reduced by P1.50 per kilogram. Its Xtend auto LPG, meanwhile, will go down by P0.94 per liter to reflect lowered international contract rates.
The company said this is its second price cut for the month, bringing the total reduction to P3 per kg. It said that following the price cut, an 11-kg cylinder of cooking LPG will not cost between P638 and P648.
Pilipinas Shell, meanwhile, said the price of its Shellane LPG will be reduced by P1.50/kg starting 12:01 a.m. on Saturday. It said that after the price reduction, an 11-kg cylinder will cost P610-P625.
Independent player Total Philippines, on the other hand, said LPG prices will be cut by P1.50/kg exclusive of sales tax and auto LPG by P0.94 per liter, inclusive of the value-added tax, effective midnight.
