Robbers commandeered an armored van with an estimated cash worth P3 million inside a mall's parking lot in Taguig City, Friday morning.
Director Geary Barias, Metro Manila police chief, said the armored van was parked inside the Market! Market! mall at the Bonifacio Global City when it was attacked by armed men on board a silver Mitsubishi Pajero (ULJ-698).
The robbers shot the van's guard identified as Samuel Cationg and the mall's security guard named only as "Rene Boy."
Barias said the robbers took the van and abandoned it along Kalayaan Avenue in Makati City. The money was no longer in the van when it was found by police.
A radio dzMM report said that according to a ChinaBank employee, the van contained at least P3 million.
Barias said that according to witnesses, the robbers escaped on board a gray van.
Police units in Taguig and nearby areas have been alerted as authorities pursued the robbers.
