MANILA, Philippines - A 17-year-old boy was killed while his friend was in critical condition after lightning struck them in Balasan town in Iloilo province last weekend.
Radio dzBB reported early Monday that the victims were riding a mountain bike when they were struck.
The fatality was initially identified as Henry Basia, 17, while the injured was identified as Rico Ramab, 12.
Basia succumbed to injuries in the chest while Ramab suffered injuries in the back.
Initial investigation showed the two were heading for the local plaza to get a wristwatch they had fixed. - GMANews.TV
