MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Appointments (CA) could decide on the nominations of three ambassadors and dozens of chiefs of mission, Foreign Service officers and career ministers on May 13, CA member and Cebu Rep. Eduardo R. Gullas said Friday.
"We have already completed the [appointment] papers of three appointees for ambassador and 59 chiefs of mission, Foreign Service officers and career ministers. Papers will be thoroughly deliberated," Mr. Gullas said in a statement.
The three ambassador-designates are: Francisco Benedicto, to India; Cristina Ponce-Enrile, to the Vatican; and Guillermo Wong, to Cambodia.
The committee will be chaired by Sen. Miriam Santiago and co-chaired by Representatives Emmylou Talino-Mendoza of Cotabato, Eileen Ermita-Buhain of Batangas and Jose Yap of Tarlac.
