2 escape death in Antipolo shooting - report

MANILA, Philippines - Two men escaped death in a shooting incident following a verbal tussle with a bakery owner in Antipolo City.

Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported that the businessman who shot the two was arrested shortly after the incident that occurred in De la Paz village in Antipolo City.

The victims, initially identified as Rigor Sanchez, 28, and Lino Marizcotes, 35, were rushed to a nearby hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds.

Sanchez suffered six gunshot wounds in the arm and back, while Marizcotes sustained gunshot wounds in the arm

Initial investigation showed the suspect, identified as one Zaldy Vergara, approached the two while they were eating in front of a store, and poked a handgun at them.

A verbal tussle followed and Vergara left, but returned with a "reloaded" cal-.38 revolver, which he used to shoot the two victims. - GMANews.TV
