Marcos Highway was declared closed to all types of motorists going to and from Baguio City Wednesday after a certain portion along Tuba town in Benguet eroded due to rains because of the inclement weather.
The major damage to the highway has made it impassable and dangerous to motorists.
As a remedy, commuters upon reaching this damaged portion of the highway have to walk and then ride on another public transport at the other end.
The Department of Public Works and Highways in Cordillera meanwhile said that it will take their personnel two to three days to fix the eroded portion.
In line with this, Baguio City Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. issued an administrative order temporarily allowing all types of vehicles to pass through Kennon Road.
On the other hand, authorities said motorists should also take extra precautionary measures to ensure their safety. Xenia Ribaya, ABS-CBN Baguio
