MANILA, Philippines - A 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit northern Mindanao Monday, but no casualties were initially reported.
Citing a bulleting from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), radio dzBB's Bernie Morales reported that the earthquake occurred at 2:56 p.m. Monday.
The radio report said the epicenter of the ground movement was located 19 kilometers northwest of Butuan City. The quake had a depth of five kilometers.
The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt at intensity IV in Butuan City; intensity III in Cugman, Cagayan de Oro; intensity II in Cagayan de Oro; and intensity I in Camiguin Island. - Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
