MANILA, Philippines - Police, military and elections officials will meet in North Cotabato Tuesday to map out action plans for worst-case scenarios in the August 11 Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) polls.
Radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr reported that the Commission on Elections (Comelec) will preside over a command conference called to review security measures for the ARMM election.
ARMM police director Chief Superintendent Joel Goltiao said initial preparations include the deployment of 600 police personnel from the police regional mobile groups to the ARMM.
Goltiao said the police will come from Regions 9, 10, 11, 12 and Caraga, noting that reinforcements will be in place in ARMM three days before the election day. - GMANews.TV
