CAMP OLIVAS, PAMPANGA - Central Luzon police have created its Web site and is now easily accessible via Internet.
Aside from the common information such as organization, about us, links, contacts, hot lines and other police matter articles, www.olivas.com.ph also carries the names of most wanted criminals with corresponding rewards on their heads.
A photo gallery of recent various activities by personnel of the regional police headquarters is also posted.
Senior Superintendent Gil Pacia, chief directorial staff of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), said the Web site is still under trial stage as more updates are being undertaken to make it more informative.
Pacia, who led the group of computer expert cops and civilian employees, was thankful to his superiors for their support in the realization of his "pet" project.
"Its high time that the Central Luzon police accomplishment and other related programs be read through internet, and I thank my superiors especially Chief Superintendent Errol Pan [regional police director] for the support to the project," said Pacia.
Pacia said the Web site is still on a trial phase and "my team are still on the process of fine-tuning some of the contents."
Central Luzon police is the second regional police headquarters in the entire country that has its own Web site. The first was Police Regional Office 7 (PRO7).
Internet surfers, Pacia said, especially police reporters covering this regional police headquarters, could easily access the press releases and other developments inside and outside the regional police headquarters.
The Web site also carries the crime maps of the seven provinces including Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, and Zambales.
Chief Superintendent Alredo Caballes, deputy regional director for administration (DRDA), has welcomed the new development for Central Luzon police saying, Region 3 police will be now considered global with the help of information technology.
Net surfers could now discover the historical Camp Olivas headquarters, and other public safety tips, said Caballes.
Also posted in the website are the complete list and names of chiefs of police including the telephone numbers of 126 police stations in Central Luzon. -Jess Malabanan
