Cops nab bishop's mugger

Police have arrested the suspected mugger of Archbishop Jesus Dorada near a church in Ozamis City early Friday.

Chief Inspector Wilbur Salaguste, Ozamis City police chief, said Crit Bardillas, 22, was arrested after being identified by witnesses from a police line-up.

Bardillas and three other men were rounded up by policemen hours after Dosada was mugged near the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedra. The incident took place around 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Police said Dosada was walking near the cathedral when motorcycle-riding men stopped in front of him. The suspect suddenly declared hold up and forcibly took the prelate's mobile phone and cash.

The police failed to recover the cash and the mobile phone.

The suspect is now detained at the Ozamis City Police Station. He will be presented to the City Prosecutor's Office on Monday, police said.
