MANILA, Philippines - Eleven more passengers of a boat that capsized on Wednesday afternoon were rescued Saturday after staying afloat in the waters off Romblon, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday.
Lt. Commander Armand Balilo, PCG spokesman, said F/B Jhon Khazzers 77 rolled over in the waters near Ilijan village in Corcuerra after encountering huge waves and strong winds around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Coastguardsmen earlier rescued four passengers.
The boat left Lunos, Romblon and while sailing toward Corcuerra the vessel overturned.
On Thursday around 5 p.m., a fishing vessel, FB Sto. Nino de Prudencia of Reina Mercedes Fishing Corp, passed by and rescued the passengers.
They were all safe and brought back to Romblon, the PCG said. - GMANews.TV
