MANILA, Philippines – The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) now has an all-women Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, with 17 policewomen graduating from a 45-day course on Wednesday.
The policewomen, one of them an officer, went through a course initiated by the BCPO Human Resource and Development Division, according to statement issued by the BCPO.
The course included rappelling, sniping, tactical maneuvers, and assault exercises.
The graduation was held at 10 a.m. at the multipurpose hall of the Baguio City Police Office, according to Superintendent Florante Camuyot, police chief.
Mayor Reinaldo Bautista, along with other city officials, attended the graduation.
"In combat, we need to use our wits, our common sense and our skill," Camuyot said. "Training is the best way to perfect all these... "Our all new female SWAT team will now work elbow to elbow with our men in the field… tougher, stronger and better." - GMANews.TV
