LAOAG CITY, Philippines A detainee who escaped the provincial jail here in 1991 was finally recaptured in Cagayan, police said Saturday.
Ferdinand Antonio was arrested in Tuguegarao City last Friday by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group. Antonio was listed as a resident of Pata East village in Claveria, Cagayan.
Antonio was detained at the Laoag City jail for illegal possession of firearms and robbery. He was being transferred to the Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail for other cases in 1991 when he escaped.
Antonio surrendered peacefully when he was cornered in Tuguegarao City by police. - GMANews.TV
