Magnitude 5.8 'aftershock' rocks Bicol

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-5.8 quake was recorded off Bicol Wednesday night, but no casualty or damage was immediately reported.

Radio dzBB reported that Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) seismologist Linda Amin said the quake was recorded at 9:18 p.m.

The report quoted Amin as saying the quake was an aftershock of last Friday's quake that rocked Bicol and some areas in the Visayas.

Earlier, the United States Geological Service traced the epicenter at 66 kilometers east-southeast of Legazpi City in Albay.

USGS said the epicenter was also 98 km northeast of Masbate, 100 km north-northwest of Calbayog in Samar, and 407 km east-southeast of Manila. - GMANews.TV
