Nagpapasalamat si
Baron Geisler, hindi lang sa mga PEP readers—as he regularly reads all features
here and especially the comments, lalo na sa mga items sa kanya—pati na rin sa
double break na ibinigay sa kanya ng mga pelikulang Jay at Torotot.
His good performances
for the two movies eclipsed his last not-so-good news about himself and William
Martinez and Yayo Aguila's daughter Patrizha in terms of print space, as he
also wants it settled through amicable settlement para hindi na umabot sa
korte.
"Hindi naman kasi ako
ang mas talo rito, mas nakakaawa si Patrizha so sana maayos ko na rin ito," sabi
ni Baron during the presscon of Torotot, his film with Viva Films directed by
his mentor and now manager Maryo J. de los Reyes. He also reiterates na gagawa
siya ng paraan para maayos ito amicable out of court.
With his Best Actor
award for Jay sa katatapos lang na Cinemalaya 2008, pinuri namin si Baron na malakas
na panlaban din ang kanyang performance sa Torotot, na napanood na namin during
the first director's cut screening a week ago sa MyCinema sa Greenbelt 3.
"Ah talaga? Sana
naman. Salamat," sambit niya.
Suddenly, Baron is
being rediscovered again. Kuwento ni Direk Maryo, he has arranged for Baron to
be part of the Viva Films festival movie Baler starring Anne Curtis and Jericho
Rosales sa direction ni Mark Meily. Pero sabi naman ni Baron, who will
definitely be part of the upcoming ABS-CBN soap Eva Fonda, baka mas piliin niya
ang horror movie being offered by Star Cinema.
BARON'S LOVE LIFE. Trying to be good boy
na raw siya and he is cleaning his act, so to speak, kaya't puro trabaho na
lang muna ang focus niya. So we asked him about his love life.
"Well, I'm dating someone,"
sagot niya.
We asked kung sino ang
idini-date niya. Turned out it's Dionne Monsanto, the Pinoy Big Brother
housemate of Season 2 na nagpepelikula na rin. Thinking na nagkakilala sina
Baron at Dionne during the shoot of Torotot, it was their co-star Maui Taylor
who explained that the two already knew each other even before the movie
started shooting.

Baron na textmate kami ni Dionne, so tinext namin then and there si Dionne to
say na nagdi-date pala sila ni Baron.
Pinabasa namin ang text
answer ni Dionne that reads: "Sino po may sabi? Nagkikita po kami, we got out
to eat, stuff like that. Nothing major."
Napa-"ouch!" si Baron
at biniro namin siya na idinenay siya ni Dionne. So we texted Dionne again saying
it was Baron who told us this personally at nag-"ouch!" nga ang aktor.
Ang next na sagot ni
Dionne: "Sira talaga to si Barn. It's true naman po that we see each other.
We're having a beautiful friendship. Yun lang po ang masasabi ko ngayon."
We let go at that
dahil pareho naman silang nagsabi na sila ang magkakasama sa second director's
cut ng Torotot this Saturday, August 9, sa UP Film Institute.
Hindi sila ang magka-partner sa pelikula. Isang eksena nga lang silang
nagkasama, sa New Year party scene. Baron plays the husband of Maui and Dionne
is one of their common friends ng dalawa pang bida na sina Yul Servo at
Precious Adona.
