BAGUIO CITY, Philippines - The City Council is thinking of creating anti-drug councils in the schools to protect the youth from the influence of dangerous drugs.
With plans gearing toward a drug-free city, Baguio Vice-Mayor Daniel Fariñas said schools are the ideal sites for the creation of an extension of the City Anti Drug Abuse Council (Cadac).
In a proposed measure, Fariñas said anti-drug abuse councils in schools will have the prerogative to create their own approach on how to attain the city's vision of being a drug-free locality.
A P1-million appropriation was proposed for the purpose.
The school-based anti-drug council will be composed of principals, school administrators and administration personnel, faculty members and parent-teachers associations. - Sun.Star Baguio
