MANILA, Philippines - A village chairman in Batangas province is now being hunted for shooting dead a businessman Monday night, supposedly over an alleged grudge.
Radio dzRH reported that the suspect, initially identified as Marcos Guevarra, gunned down trader Francis Mendoza near a gas station in Nasugbu town in Batangas at 8 p.m. Monday.
Guevarra, 35, is the village chairman of Looc village in Nasugbu. Mendoza, 35, is a contractor who hails from San Juan Subdivision in Malaruhatan village in Lian town.
Initial investigation showed Mendoza was leaving the gas station aboard a Nissan utility vehicle (ZNT-890) when the suspect showed up and shot him.
Guevarra fled aboard a tricycle while Mendoza succumbed to gunshot wounds in different parts of the body before doctors at the Metro Lemery Medical Hospital could attend to him. - GMANews.TV
