At least four men broke into a three-story home in Barangay San Antonio, Makati City, and hogtied its occupants Thursday morning.
Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Makati police chief, said the burglars failed to consummate their plan as their scurried away after a housemaid screamed for help.
Cruz said the occupants of the house were rescued by policemen. "They're OK. The initial motive is robbery," he said.
Policemen have set up blocking points in around Barangay San Antonio and nearby villages to arrest the burglars.
