An office building of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on Taft Avenue in Pasay City went up in flames past midnight.
The blaze broke out around 12:30 a.m. Sunday and razed a room on the
second floor of the building. Firefighters were able to put out the
flames after it reached second alarm.
No one was reported injured in the incident.
Reports said important documents were destroyed by the fire. The amount of damage to property, including personal computers, has yet
to be determined.
A security guard suspects that the blaze was caused by an electrical short circuit.
Investigators are now looking into the incident.
