MANILA, Philippines A happy occasion turned bloody for a groom who was stabbed hours after his own wedding in the northern town of San Juan in Ilocos Sur province, a radio report said Saturday.
Bombo Radyo reported that a five-year-old child was also injured in the incident that occurred just after the wedding ceremony at Cabangtalan village in San Juan town.
The victim, Rolly Veracion Revives, sustained stab wounds in the head and neck after suspect Dan Michael Castro Capa used a bolo to attack him.
Also wounded was the victim's five-year-old nephew.
Investigation showed Capa, who was drunk at the time, had a verbal spat with one of his relatives. Revives tried to restrain him and prevailed.
But as Revives was bringing his nephew home after the ceremony, Capa blocked his path and attacked him. - GMANews.TV
