MANILA, Philippines - At least seven bodies believed to be from the capsized "Princess of the Stars" were recovered in three areas in Sorsogon province in Bicol, a radio report said Sunday.
Bombo Radyo Legazpi cited a Coast Guard report indicating that the remains were found in three coastal villages in Magallanes town as of 9 a.m.
It said at least three male cadavers were found in Macalaya village in Castilla town. One of them was identified as Charito Balunan of San Isidro in Leyte.
Balunan was described as 26 years old, and wearing a life jacket of the doomed ship.
The two other men could not be identified as they were decomposing, and parts of their bodies were missing, the report said.
A fourth body recovered in Sta. Lourdes village in Magallanes appeared to be that of a woman. She was clad in denim pants and blue T-shirt.
The bodies of two men, both naked, were found in Behia village also in Magallanes town.
At 10 a.m., a seventh body - a male - was recovered in Marinab village in Bulan town. The body was already decomposing when found.
Officials of the three towns had the bodies immediately buried. - GMANews.TV
