29-year-old woman falls prey to taxi robbery gang

MANILA, Philippines - A 29-year-old woman lost some P20,000 in cash and valuables after she fell victim to a taxi robbery gang in Quezon City.

Radio dzBB's Allan Gatus on Saturday reported that the victim, initially identified as Marichu Gozun, took a cab at San Juan City and asked to be brought to Pasay City.

But the driver proceeded to the corner of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Ortigas Avenue, and went to the northbound portion of EDSA.

The taxi stopped at a gas station to pick up a male passenger, who announced the holdup as the vehicle approached Scout Fuentebella near Timog Avenue in Quezon City.

Gozun said the men poked bladed weapons at her and then got her money, cell phone, and jewelry. - GMANews.TV
