Sa unang pagkakataon
ay humarap sa media si Lucy Torres, kasama ang kanyang anak na si Juliana, sa
launching ng pinaka-latest endorsement nilang mag-ina, ang Canon Selphy CP770
and CP760 Compact Photo Printers. Ginanap ito sa Hard Rock Café last Sunday, July 6.
"Yeah, this is the
first time in a presscon like this. Kaya sobrang mahiyain," bungad ni Lucy tungkol sa kanyang unica hija.
May kanya-kanyang
opinyon naman ang iba kung sino ang kamukha ni Juliana between Lucy and Richard
Gomez.
"Well, it really
depends on who sees her. Sometimes kamukha ko raw, sometimes kamukha ni
Richard. It really doesn't matter for as long as kamukha either one of us,"
ngiti ni Lucy.
Tinanong ng PEP
(Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Lucy kung type ba ni Juliana na
mag-artista tulad ni Richard at kung papayagan ba niya ang anak.
"I'd rather that she
becomes an athlete like her dad. If she wants to enter, it's–" Naputol ang sinasabi
ni Lucy at tinanong si Juliana kung gusto ba niyang mag-artista.
"Oh, she just paints
walls!" tawa ni Lucy, at saka sinabing, "She's sporty also."
Ano ba ang hilig ni
Juliana?
"You know, what Richard
does now is, he exposes her to different sports, like soccer, baseball, they did
track and field, swimming... And then she can choose na where she wants to
concentrate eventually."
Ano ang favorite
sport ni Juliana?
"For now, it's
baseball. She's a natural athlete like her dad. She can pick up a game easily."
Paano sila nagbo-bonding
ni Juliana?
"Our bonding time is
more sedative. You know, arts and crafts. Yung mga danger, sa kanila yun ng daddy
niya. Yung tumatalon," natatawang kuwento ni Lucy.
Ano pa ang mga
ginagawa ngayon ni Juliana?
"She prays. She
prays every night before she goes to sleep."
Nagmana rin daw sa
kanya si Juliana sa pagiging relihiyosa.
"As religious as a child her age, yes. Pero hindi
pa naman siya nagno-novena!" tawa niya ulit.
Kinumpirma rin ni
Lucy ang sinabi ni Richard na gusto na nilang magkaroon ng kapatid si Juliana.
"Yes, we've been
working on that. But you know, we've been patiently waiting for God's perfect
time, also. All in His plan and time."
Habang katabi ni
Lucy si Juliana, may ilang nagtanong sa bagets kung gusto ba niyang magkaroon
ng kapatid. Umiling lang si Juliana at sumiksik pang lalo sa tabi ni Lucy.
"Well, you never
look for something you have not tried yet, di ba? So, every time we ask her,
she says, ‘No, I don't like.' Maybe that would change."
Masuwerteng bata si Juliana dahil sa kanyang mga magulang, ani Lucy.
"Yeah, she has the
best of both worlds; the sporty side of
her dad and the creative side of her mom."
Kung si Lucy ang
masusunod, mas gusto niyang magkaroon ng normal life si Juliana.
"I want her to have
a regular life and to be appreciative of the things she has. Because in
showbiz, everything comes so easy, e, di ba? So, I don't want her to be jaded."
Juliana is currently
in Grade II sa Montessori sa White Plains. British school ba ang pinapasukan
niya?
"No, not British
school," ngiti ni Lucy.
Paano niya
dini-discipline si Julianna?
"Meron naman. Like a
kid, she can get impatient at times also."
Pero sa mga isinusulat
daw ni Lucy sa kanyang kolum sa isang broadsheet ay parang hindi sila nag-aaway
ni Julianna.
"We fight also!"
tawa niya.
Anong madalas
nilang pinag-aawayan?
"Usually we fight about
clothes," sagot ni Lucy. "Yes, because she won't wear what she doesn't
like to wear. Ako, I have a different
idea of how child should dress up because back in my time, it's all about
dresses and you know, mga ruffles. So, I stopped.
"Now, I stopped buying
clothes for her that I choose. So when we buy clothes, it has to be what she
chooses para walang sayang. Otherwise, hindi niya susuutin. Hindi talaga
gagamitin, e. So maybe it's her way also of expressing herself."
Ano naman ang
binibili sa kanya ni Richard?
"Si Richard buys all
her rubber shoes."
Pang-ilang
endorsement na ni Juliana ang Canon?
"I don't know. I
don't know anymore kung ilang endorsement.... I think four, there
are two more coming. So, it's six. But
one is out already, the vitamin commercial."
Hindi lingid kay
Lucy na ini-endorse din ni Sharon Cuneta at ng anak nitong si KC Concepcion ang
karibal na brand.
"Well, you know, I
think it' natural for people to compare. Kasi, di ba, you always look out what
the other company is doing? It's just keeping abreast with what's happening. There's
nothing wrong with that," pahayag niya bilang pangwakas.
