German climbers return home from Kurdish captivity

MUNICH, Germany - One of three German climbers held hostage for more than a week by Kurdish rebels said Monday they were treated well by their captors but feared getting caught up in armed clashes during the ordeal.

Lars Holger Reime, 33, and two companions returned home after being kidnapped July 8 during a climbing expedition on Mount Ararat. The 16,854-foot (5,137-meter) mountain in Turkey's eastern Agri Province is where many believe Noah's Ark came to rest.

The climbers were released Sunday, and flew back to Munich on Monday. German officials have refused to discuss details of their release
